A man in a viral video has called on supporters of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) in Enugu State to take precautions against alleged attacks at political gatherings following repeated incidents that reportedly claimed a life.
In a statement circulating on social media, the man alleged that NDC supporters were attacked by suspected political thugs while returning from the airport in Enugu, despite claims that security operatives had been informed.
He expressed frustration over what he described as the failure of security personnel to prevent the alleged attacks, urging party supporters to take their safety seriously during future events.
According to him, supporters should be prepared to protect themselves if similar incidents occur again.
“While coming from the airport, we were attacked by thugs here in Enugu despite informing security operatives, but nothing was done. The hour has come; it is time to defend ourselves,” he said.
He further urged NDC supporters attending future gatherings to come prepared with items such as wooden planks and machetes, claiming they needed to protect themselves against possible attacks.
