Human rights activist and former presidential candidate Omoyele Sowore has called on the Nigerian Army to immediately release Chidiebere Justice, popularly known on social media as Justice Cracks.
In a statement shared online, Sowore alleged that Justice’s vehicle was sighted at the offices of the Defence Intelligence Agency after he was reportedly picked up by Brigadier General W.A. Adegoke.
According to Sowore, the activist’s alleged “offence” was speaking out against the reported extrajudicial killing of a National Youth Service Corps member, as well as highlighting the conditions faced by soldiers on the frontlines.
He insisted that the detention, if confirmed, raises serious concerns about freedom of expression and the treatment of whistleblowers in Nigeria, urging authorities to act swiftly.
The Nigerian Army has yet to issue an official response regarding the allegations as of the time of filing this report.
