The Supreme Court of Nigeria has upheld the nullification of the PDP national convention held in Ibadan on November 15–16, 2025, in a split 3–2 decision.
The apex court affirmed the rulings of the lower courts, holding that the convention was conducted in violation of a valid Federal High Court order.
The order had directed the party to allow Sule Lamido participate as a chairmanship aspirant. Instead, the PDP proceeded with the convention.
The court agreed with earlier findings that the action amounted to disregard for a subsisting court order.
This ruling directly affects the legitimacy of the leadership that emerged from that convention and deepens the ongoing crisis within the party.
More details to follow as the full judgment is released.
