
Nigerian Afrobeats superstar, Davido, has continued his impressive run in 2026 after his latest album, 5IVE, was crowned Album of the Year at the 2026 African Muzik Magazine Awards (AFRIMMA).
The award, announced on Tuesday, saw Davido emerge ahead of some of Africa’s biggest music acts, including Burna Boy, Asake, Omah Lay and Black Sherif.
His winning album, 5IVE, defeated Burna Boy’s No Sign of Weakness, Asake’s M$NEY, Omah Lay’s Clarity of Mind and Black Sherif’s Top of The Morning Era in the highly competitive category.
Davido entered the ceremony as the most nominated artiste of the year, receiving five nominations across several major categories.
Beyond the Album of the Year prize, the singer was also nominated for Artist of the Year, Best Male West Africa and the Crossing Boundaries With Music Award, further highlighting his influence across the African music scene.
