The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has rescued a newborn baby girl who was found abandoned inside a carton along a road in Galadima, Abuja.
The discovery marks the third case of an abandoned baby reported within the FCT in the past two weeks, raising fresh concerns over the growing trend.
The command’s spokesperson, SP Joseph Adeh, expressed concern over the abandonment of children and the dangers they face when left in vulnerable conditions.
The police appealed to members of the public with any information that could help identify the baby’s family or trace those responsible for the abandonment to come forward and assist with the investigation.
