The Commissioner of Police, Anambra State Command, CP Nnanna Oji Ama, has conducted unscheduled visits to police divisions across the state as part of measures to strengthen operational readiness and improve grassroots policing.
The inspection, carried out on Monday, September 14, 2026, focused on assessing the preparedness of police personnel, the condition of facilities and the availability of arms and operational equipment.
During the visits, CP Nnanna inspected the general condition of the divisions and assessed the level of security preparedness and responsiveness of officers and men in their respective areas of responsibility.
The Commissioner directed Divisional Police Officers (DPOs) to maintain heightened alertness and ensure that personnel remain proactive and adequately positioned to respond swiftly to emerging security threats.
He also ordered the DPOs to prioritise the proper maintenance and facelift of police stations, insisting that police facilities must remain clean, functional, orderly and conducive to effective service delivery.
According to him, the condition of a police station plays an important role in shaping public confidence and the quality of interaction between the police and the communities they serve.
CP Nnanna further charged officers and men to uphold discipline, professionalism, courtesy and respect for citizens’ fundamental rights while remaining firm and decisive in carrying out their lawful duties.
The Commissioner reaffirmed the Command’s commitment to proactive, intelligence-led and community-oriented policing, assuring residents that the police would continue to strengthen operational strategies, increase visibility and sustain efforts to prevent crime and protect lives and property across Anambra State.
The police stations and formations visited included the Rapid Response Squad, Awkuzu; Dunukofia Police Station; Oyi Police Station; and the newly constructed Ogbunike Police Station.
