A video currently circulating on social media has captured a moment some Nigerians were heard chanting “Thief! Thief!” as President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s convoy passed along an airport road in Lagos following his return from France.
The footage, which has attracted reactions online, shows the presidential convoy moving along the road while voices from the roadside can be heard chanting the words.

Tinubu returned to Nigeria on Tuesday, September 29, after spending about four weeks in Europe on what the Presidency described as a working vacation. His aircraft landed at the presidential wing of the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos, at about 6:22 p.m.
His return also caused significant traffic disruptions around the airport and adjoining roads, with security personnel restricting movement along parts of his route.
The video has since generated debate across social media, with users sharing different interpretations of the reaction captured in the footage.
Tinubu, who spoke shortly after his arrival, said he was “healthy, sound, and ready to go,” dismissing concerns that had circulated about his health while he was abroad.
